From Sanskrit, the word “yoga” translates as union of mind, body and spirit.
Yoga is an ancient and timeless art, science, philosophy, and medicine that emphasizes performing one’s daily responsibilities with awareness, integrity and compassion. Iyengar yoga is the world’s most widely practiced method of yoga taught in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar, the author of the classic “Light on Yoga”. He has made yoga accesible and relevant to people everywhere, no matter what their physical or mental ability. The system of teaching is methodical and progressive, emphasizing detailed correctness and absolute safety. When necessary, the Iyengar method uses props to facilitate learning and allow students to progress safely in their bodies.
